I must say going on a modeling tour is definitely one of the
best perks of being a model. All the dieting, exercising, and character
research is made all worth the time spent when you know you're going on a trip
to make money and spend time with amazing people. On this particular trip Shakeshift and I were headed to North Carolina, Georgia, and sunny Florida.
Finally time to get out of a state full of snow!
Prior to this trip Shakeshift scored an awesome deal on a
Nightwing costume. A model was selling her old costume and Shakeshift happen to
snatch it up before it was too late. I believe the costume will be a great
addition to our content.
One issue we faced when working on the character is
what do we change to convey the character as a girl. The hair was biggest issue
we faced. Most girls just use their own hair, but because I always use wigs we
had a limited choice in styles.
Normally Nightwing has dark black hair; if we
decided to go with a dark wig that would mean I would use my Wonder Woman wig.
We felt that style would not best suit the character. We could have gone
blonde, but I felt the character should be a bit more out of the box and not
predictable. That’s when Jessica Nova suggested we make our Nightwing a red
head. Red headed super heroes are not as common as super heroes with blonde or
dark hair; so I felt this would be a nice change of pace. That is when we set
on our Nightwing to be a red-head with a ponytail.
What makes me most excited about this trip is the new Nightwing character that I will be debuting for the League of Amazing Women and
Dawnstar Productions. I've always been a huge Batman and Robin fan; in fact
Dick Grayson is my favorite Robin. But I had only ever seen Nightwing a
handful of times, so I did not know an extensive amount about the character. Luckily
I really enjoy the research part of modeling; it means I get to watch hours of
super hero shows, which brings me right back to my childhood watching the Super
Friends.
